Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 28, 2026
Teach Aloud is made by DiddiaSix LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the service handles, why, and what happens to it.
- Your material is used to build and teach your classes and for nothing else. We do not use it to train AI models, and we do not sell or share it.
- Everything runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States.
- Calls are recorded only if you switch recording on, and PAuL says so on the call before teaching.
- We keep no advertising trackers and set no tracking cookies.
Information we hold, and why
Your account
Your email address and a password you choose, held by Amazon Cognito. We use the email address to sign you in, to send you account and billing messages, and to reach you about the service. We record which plan you are on, when your classes were built, and how many times each was taught, because that is what your plan's allowances are counted from.
The material you upload
Slide decks, documents, links you point us to and recordings you upload are stored in Amazon S3 and read to write your class. Recordings you upload are transcribed by Amazon Transcribe. Pages that are pictures rather than text are read by an AI vision model. The class itself — the outline, what PAuL says on each slide, the fact sheet and the likely questions — is written by an AI model on Amazon Bedrock and stored alongside your material, and indexed so PAuL can answer questions from it.
What happens during a class
By telephone. PAuL places a call through Amazon Chime, speaking with Amazon Nova. We record which number was rung (keeping only the last four digits in our records), when, how long the call ran, how far through the deck it got, and how often the room spoke. Questions asked on the call are sent to the AI model to be answered. If recording is switched on for the class, the call audio is kept as a recording and a video is made from it and the slides; PAuL tells everyone on the line that the call is recorded before teaching begins.
In the browser. The words PAuL speaks are synthesised by Amazon Polly and cached. Questions you type or say are sent to the AI model to be answered. If you use the microphone, speech recognition runs in your own browser; your voice does not leave your device. We record when a session started, which slide it reached and how many questions were asked.
People you invite
When you invite someone to a class we hold their email address, the invitation, whether they opened it and how many times they started the class. If they choose the telephone they type their own number, which is used to place the call; we keep the last four digits. Anything they write in the feedback box is passed to you, the class owner.
Text messages
If you ask to hear PAuL from the home page, we text one verification code to the mobile number you type, and then PAuL rings that number once. We keep a one-way hash of the number for a day, to hold the one-call-per-day limit, and the last four digits in the call log. We do not keep the number itself after that, we never text it again unless you make a new request, and we do not share mobile numbers or consent with anyone for marketing. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help.
Visitors
If you press a plan on the pricing page we note which plan and when, and nothing about who you are. Signing in uses your browser's session storage, which is cleared when the tab closes; we set no tracking cookies and run no analytics.
Payments
Paid plans are processed by Stripe, with Link as the merchant of record. Stripe collects your name, payment details and billing address under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and the plan you bought so we can switch your account on.
Who processes it
Everything is processed on Amazon Web Services, in the US East (Virginia) region: Cognito for accounts, S3 for storage, Bedrock for the AI models (Anthropic Claude for writing and answering, Amazon Nova for speaking on calls), Polly for the browser voice, Transcribe for recordings you upload, Chime for telephone calls, and Simple Email Service for the emails we send. Stripe processes payments. We do not share your information with anyone else, and we do not sell it.
How long we keep it
Your material, classes and recordings are kept until you delete the class or close your account, at which point they are removed from our storage. Session records — when a class was taught and how it went — are kept with the class. Invitations expire after 24 hours and are kept as a record of who was invited. Account and billing records are kept as long as the law requires.
Recording other people
The service can record telephone classes and it can call people you invite. You are responsible for telling participants and getting any consent the law requires. Many places require the consent of everyone on a call. See our Terms of Service.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you are under 18, use it with a parent's or guardian's permission.
Your rights
You can see and delete your classes and their recordings yourself. To access, correct or delete the rest of what we hold about you, or to close your account, email us at the address below; we will act within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements. Requests about payment data are handled by Stripe.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you by email.
